Winter is Coming. Is Your Roof Ready?
Queens, historically, is not known for its mild winters. While we don’t have to deal with a huge amount of snowfall every year, there is still enough inclement weather to necessitate a little attention be given to the state of your roof. Below, we have listed a few warning signs that may indicate your roof is in need of repairs.
- Age: On average, you can expect your roof to have a lifespan of 20 and 25 years. While this may seem like a long amount of time for a roof to last, in the scheme of things it can actually feel quite shorter. If your roof is coming close to its expected lifespan, we suggest that you give us a call at Superior Touch Roofing & Contracting Inc. We will come out, inspect your roof, and determine if it is time for your shingles to be replaced. In some cases, roofs can last upwards of 30 years, however, it is in your best interest to have your roof checked to make sure that it is still up to the task of protecting your home.
- Missing/Peeling Shingles: If you are able to see the top of your roof and notice that shingles have begun to peel away or are completely missing in some areas, this is a major indication that it is time for some prepares to take place. If the shingles of your roof become compromised, moisture can quickly seep into the underlying lumber that makes up the main structure of your home’s roof.
